On Friday 27 September 2019 Challenge project took part in the European Researchers’ Night, the annual public science dedicated to bringing researchers closer to public in more than 250 cities all over Europe.

During the night, Challenge researchers from CNR-IMM were active both in Catania and Bologna.

Colleagues from Bologna displayed their work in an interactive way. They could count on the support of a passionate group of students from Liceo Scientifico “L. Valeriani” (Imola, Italy), who spent a school year studying Challenge project in the context of the “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro” programme. A video with their appreciation and interest in this experience is available here.

Researchers and students engaged with visitors of different ages and backgrounds and proved to be very convincing, rigorous and passionate. The project activities and main findings were disclosed both to children, teenagers and university students that measured themselves with a coding game developed by Challenge partners, both with University professors and CNR researchers, who stopped curious to know more about the latest news concerning the use of silicon carbide in electric motors.

In Catania, Franscesco La Via, Challenge coordinator, entertained the public with a talk on 3C-SiC properties and possible revolutionary applications.
